Title : Communications Manager
Location: Sherbrooke (hybrid work possible)
Languages: French and English
Schedule: Full-time, with occasional atypical hours depending on community activities
The Compton–Stanstead constituency office is looking for a creative, organized and politically aware Communications Manager to help amplify the work of the Member of Parliament and strengthen our connection with constituents, partners and local media.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the office’s communications strategy.
• Manage media relations, coordinate interviews, and draft press releases,quotes and remarks.
• Create and manage content for social media, the website and mailouts.
• Support event planning and represent the office at public activities when needed.
• Conduct media and parliamentary monitoring to identify issues and communication opportunities.
• Draft, edit and format documents in both official languages.
What we’re looking for
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and a solid interest in current affairs and Canadian politics.
• Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, discretion and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in communications, journalism or related fields.
• Creativity, analytical skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
